Yeah, I didn't think about the jury thing. You could be right. Though I don't think the family would be in danger because both the victim and the murderer were from out of town. I think they were on vacation or something cause they were in an RV. But now they're saying (or at least my mother heard this) that the guy killed her and walked to a gas station and called the police himself. And we still don't even know exactly how she died.
: maybe the reason why the police are covering
: up the case is because they do not want
: anything leaked out to the press, and they
: don't want a lot of people to hear about it
: because it would make it hard to get a jury.
: if they couldn't hold a trial in your area
: they would have to go to another area and if
: the press make a big deal out of it then
: they would have to go a good distance so
: they can get a jury. also if the man is
: well known then they might not want
: retribution taken out on the family.

: In my experience the police often use
: 'questionable methods'. There is one
: inccident I didn't use because wether is was
: a accident or the police trying to set
: someone to be searched by a towing company
: in secret is just as questionable. My dad
: says thats what happened, but frankly I
: think he's full of it.

: Yeah, I know it has to be hard on her
: family.
: All things considered, it looks to me like
: it was a crime of passion. Heck, it might
: have even been an accident. But usually the
: press doesn't give a rip about peoples'
: feelings. The police must be making them
: keep quiet or something. Though usually they
: don't care what the law says either....

: Magna you said "that even his
: friendship
: could save him from" did you mean could
: not save him from?
:
: you know your dad probably could have gone
: to the press about that incident the press
: would have put pressure on the police to
: press charges.
:
: And V I'm not to surprised about the murder
: not being in the paper, the last thing i
: would think that girl's family needs is the
: press at their door. Still it is a little
: odd...
:
: Anyway I haven't had anything similar
: happen.

: I don't have anything that close to simular.
:
: I remember when I was six or seven one night
: when a group of men banging on the door of
: our home. My mom took me took to the back
: whilst this was going on. My dad was out
: front but I could still here him. Mostly
: cause my parents didn't have a door on their
: bedroom. He called the police and asked that
: they come the things I heard.
:
: "I don't care if it's his birthday. If
: you don't come down here and do something
: about this I'm gonna blow his god damned
: head off."
:
: Sounds crazy but thats what I heard and
: thats what my father told me. The dispatcher
: refused right off the bat to stop someone
: from breaking into our home with a gun to
: possibly murder us. My dad had no other
: alternative. So the police came and the man
: spent the night in jail. My dad asked to
: press charges, they didn't even charge him
: even though. They just let the guy go free
: cause he's friends with most of the local
: police force.
:
: Later on though he commited more serious
: crimes that even his friendship could save
: him from, Child Molestation. He also beat
: his girlfriend a number of time and cut her
: with a knife.

: Hey, you guys aren't going to believe this,
: (well, maybe you will, living out in the
: sticks made it a rarity for me, but
: anyway....)a body was found on my road! Like
: right down a ways from my house! Some guy
: killed this girl he was with, and then tried
: to throw her body off the bridge, ugh. They
: caught him though. But I was able to give a
: time confirmation cause I drive over that
: bridge every day to get to work, so I knew
: her body hadn't been there when I went by.
: It's weird though, cause now the police are
: all hushing it up. There hasn't been
: anything on the news, and nobodys' heard a
: thing about it. It's creepy. I swear I'll
: never drive that way again. *shudders* Any
: like experiences???
