If you haven't read this story yet, I highly recommend it. It's on fanfiction.net, and it's easiest to find in the Adventure/Romance section.

The best part, this is an actual mystery story. Lestrade takes the lead when Holmes is...well I won't spoil it, but she shows her skills.

Unfortunately it hasn't been updated since mid-2006, but it's still a really good story, and might lead to some inspiration.
