Its interesting to see that the places you listed are all lovely in there own right yet not that far from St Helens. If you do have a few mins try to find a map and you might find the north is made up of other places apart from 'Widnes, Toxteth and Skem'. I did mention Yorkshire which is to the east of St Helens before the sea. Places like Masham and Tadcaster amongst others famous for there ales and don't involve a 5+ hour drive down south. Have a think about it.
