Ancestry.com states the birthplace as Cornwall but I believe it to be Connecticut. He was 57 years of age at that time. Orange S. Treat is also listed as having served in the war of 1812 in Benedicts Regiment, NY Militia. There was also an Orange Treat from Ohio who served in the Civil War. Not the same Orange Treat but a possible connection.
