Posted by Hiuare Those who attend the Court session are fully aware of what happened. But I believe that DPP's comments are fair. I believe DPP might have assess all the police and witnesses' statements contained in this particular file when asked to prosecute this matter. I was informed that during the application for bail, police officers who gave statements at the first place have changed their statements. Though details of these changes were not made known to the public, in effect it has changed DPP initial assessment of the prosecution side. Because of this DPP himself was perhaps upset, and made statements against those police officers in Court. The attitude of the said police officers changing statements in Court is a serious conduct. Police Commissioner must investigate this and if need be appropriate actions be taken. Such attitude only amounting to bad prosecution practice and a waste of tax payers money. Any reasonable DPP officer would not withstand any police officer changing statements during Court session because the test for prosecuting a case lies upon statements obtained upon arrest or during investigation. In absence of any material evidence, I think our PM has taken a different readings to DPP'S comments.
