Posted by Hiuare.W One areka landowner asked me about this. I told him by phone saying that alienation simply where owner of a land wants to dispose of his interest voluntary or involuntary. In the mean time, we are yet to be advised on the type of alienation the state wanted to adopt in this project. Needless to explain further, the crux of the above project will be tested when we come to determine (1) the legal unit recognized or adopted as legal owner of the identified areas within Aluta basin bearing in mind that this project covers 3 different ethnic groupings with different land tenure systems (2) the landowners right to claim compensation for possible alienation of their customary land (3) the adoption of land management model of land trust board (4) the landowners choice to surrender their right to control of their customary land and vested that upon the trust board conditionally or not (5) the composition of the land trust board (6) the trust board commercial arrangement with the developer and the state (7) whether this commercial arrangement is for the best interest of landowners or trust board or third party, and (8) the formula for distribution of benefits to different classes of landowners. But in any case, the main issue is whether the landowners agree to surrender their right to control their customary land voluntarily and vested that upon various land trust boards to administer it on their behalf for their best interest.
