On the same note these are the names of my grannies who got lost on "Melanesia" and may have been stolen and taken to work on overseas plantations - TAHIMANIA, PONOMAEANA, TEREHA, WAIRIASI HOROHANUA & MAURUKENI. MAURUKENI AND TAHIMANIA were my close grannies. Does anyone overseas recognise these names in the same boat as Pate? Please correspond with me. Thanks.

Well Pate, one thing is certain that those names are Are'Are names. Not only Waisisi area but in all of Are'Are. For example Ririoa is widely used. Some people in my extended family groups use the name as well. Of course Nono'ohimae is one of the high Chiefs in Are' Are and a prominent leader in the Ma'asina rule movement in the 1940s.
