Posted by Hiuare The extent in which SI Gov't would played in this whole deal remains loosed and ill-defined as a result it creates loopholes for militants and its leaders to stand on it. That is why we will not be surprised to see that MEF and its leaders still has the right to deal with this intervention movement according to their own folders. Dont be surprised that this intervention force will not do much as ordinary people had expected in terms of arresting key leaders and its criminal elements because the gov't committed another mistake in this case failed to tighten its evidence, charges ,investigation, arresting clauses and procedures it should take. All these areas are the heart of criminal litigations and am so surprised little sense was done by the Govt to lay down its folders on it though law and order problem was repeated during the parliament debate. Thus; Solomon Islands Govt failure to provide aspects relating to criminal folders to the intervention, does raise the issue of not every key man alleged as committing crimes or offences during the ethnic crisis will be investigated and appear before court of law. Will see how MEF and the intervention force would work during this 10 years deal and mind you Malaita autonomy and other developments are the heart of the dialogue and not really a clean up campaign of investigating and arresting all its key leaders to appear before court of law which the SI Gov't failed to weave it and reserve it for Aussie to speculate into it. In other words, does SI govt really intended for the Intervention force to investigate and charge alleged leaders who involved in this ethnic tension and appear before court of law? I wont speculate here but SI Govt put it as reserve issue for the intervention to find it out. On the other hand, there are hidden agendas or reasons for Solomon Islands Govt to hold this issue to its chests and failed to dig into it. The onus is on the intervention force to investigate, charge and arrest these leaders and its criminal elements and proved before court of law, particular offences committed during the ethnic tensions.
