Hello everybody,
My goondess it has been quiet lately! This is
a question that just occured to me, and I wonder
if anyone can answer it. On one of the other
lists, there had been a conversation about the
extant of Judge Travis's powers, and why he wasn't
in a position to do anything for Vin. Eleanor
had explained to me very patiently, that it was
because Travis is a Territorial Judge, and that
Tascosa, being in the State of Texas would be
out of his jurisdiction.
However, it just occured to me, that in "One
Day out West", Travis grants a pardon to Ezra,
for his little misunderstanding that occured
at Fort Laramie. Does this imply that Fort Laramie is in the "territory" or is it just that
since Judge Travis was the one who originally
sentenced Ezra, he has the power to grant a pardon? Is any of this making any sense anyway?
