Fort Laramie at the time was an Army Fort, protecting the way West, with a town/outposts around it. So, if Travis was holding court there, and Ezra was on trial in that court, it's a Federal court warrant ~ and as such Travis would be empowered to either get the governor to pardon, or to revoke as the issuing judge. A lot of it depends on the actual charge involved, as I understand it ~ and the contemept of court charge I proposed in "One Day Out West: Fort Laramie" would be one charge that Travis would be in a position to "grant a pardon" for, or dismiss, since he's the one who issued it, and he's the one who can decide if Ezra is in compliance with the court or not. My thoughts! --Previous Message--
Hmm, good question! I would think that the answer would be yes, if Travis had a brain in his head. He'd know a thing or three about all of the men he asked to protect the town.

: : Do we even know whether or not Judge Travis

: the eps I HAVE seen that Judge Travis has
: any idea about Vin being wanted.

: Hello everybody,
: My goondess it has been quiet lately!
: This is
: a question that just occured to me, and I
: wonder
: if anyone can answer it. On one of the other
: lists, there had been a conversation about
: the
: extant of Judge Travis's powers, and why he
: wasn't
: in a position to do anything for Vin.
: Eleanor
: had explained to me very patiently, that it
: was
: because Travis is a Territorial Judge, and
: that
: Tascosa, being in the State of Texas would be
: out of his jurisdiction.
: However, it just occured to me, that in
: "One
: Day out West", Travis grants a pardon to
: Ezra,
: for his little misunderstanding that occured
: at Fort Laramie. Does this imply that Fort
: Laramie is in the "territory" or
: is it just that
: since Judge Travis was the one who originally
: sentenced Ezra, he has the power to grant a
: pardon? Is any of this making any sense
: anyway?
