..but I was so shocked that I thought I'd better come back and re-read it today before I made any comment (in case I wasn't really understanding what I was reading - seemed that way!). That anyone (let alone someone in public position) could say things like that is beyond me. And how stupid is that? To put it in writing?!? Ninnies! Go get 'em Karen, hopefully the public will see them for just what they are (IDIOTS!) and wake up to the fact that these are the people pushing for BSL. It's always like this with the weak link in politics I think, they can't get their profile public enough with genuine stuff so they go looking for something sensational that'll get public attention - dogs often do the trick. 
Over here we had this one guy (what a looser he was too) who obviously hadn't been able to get his name "out there" so he was touting the tail docking issue (never got anywhere but what do you expect when it's a campaign designed to do nothing more than create public attention and headed by a little man with a big ego?). Politics is often about deflecting I've found, if I lived there I'd want to know just what it is they are *really* up to while the point the spotlight of public opinion and interest firmly on the poor dogs!
