Hi!
Sounds like you have a little sweetie there in Pebbles. I have a Boxer that is 10 almost 11 months old now and let me tell you...I did everything to potty train him and it seemed impossible! I am a stay at home Mom so I was with our puppy all day and night everyday and still he just wouldn't quite get it. It took me aproximately 6 months to completely train him. I tried everything too. Nothing worked. He just did it in his own time. He knew when he did it that he was doing something wrong...he still did it. One day he just started going outside! HANG IN THERE> Boxers are stubborn dogs but they are very smart! Many times I have thought to myself (This dog is so stupid!) and then I can turn around and teach him how to go and get the newspaper and bring it in the house to his Daddy in less than a week. They are not stupid animals at all. They are very smart but they are stubborn! Just keep working with your baby...she will potty train soon. As far as protedctive...I have to agree with another post for you here that Boxers are natuarally protective! You wont have to train her that...it will just come. My dog is very protective of everyone in my family especially my kids...but he is by no means a mean dog. We feel very safe with him around.
Good Luck! Hope this helps!
Linda
