First I've heard of this - Metcalf wouldn't sit in the stupid chair at awards wow - from a D1 blog :
I’ve been questioning the past couple of days whether what Metcalf did at the end of the match was out of anger or out of trying to score. I feel that he did it out of Anger. However I’ve had a lot of people tell me that he was just going after Caldwell to try and score.
I’m a huge Metcalf fan, like many of you but I feel that what he did after the match when he refused to sit in the chairs before the award ceremony was classless and in bad taste for our sport. Metcalf is an heroic figure in the eyes of many people, especially young kids and he needs to act like a hero not 99% of the time, but 100% of the time. When he refused to sit in the chair, he made himself look bad, he made Coach Brands look bad, he made his teammates look bad and he made his fans look bad.
