With all due respect to Visicaro and Saulle as they are just high school kids wrestling....
However, It is written, black and white, in the referee wrestling manuals that WE ARE NOT TO REF BACK TO BACK MATCHES AT STATES. THAT IS ABSOLUTLEY WRITTEN IN OUT REFEREE MANUAL DATED 2008/2009. A group of refs, no matter who is the 1 ref or the 2 ref are not to officiate back to back matches in the state finals, in addition to other tournament wrestling.
#2, the ref should have, according to our ref manual, should have excused himself from the match since he is a shore conference ref in which he officiated Long Branch several times that season.
#3, the referee is from Long Branch so again he should have excused himself.
So, so far, no matter what anyone's opinion is of that match, he and his partner did the 152 pound match and should not have done 160 PEROD.
#2 and #3 are just further areas where he should have stayed away from the match.
#4, although it's not needed, should be noted that this ref was friends with one of the wrestlers families.
YET, THIS SHORE CONFERENCE REFEREE OFFICIATED THE 152 POUND MATCH AND KNEW, BY RULES OF THE OFFICATING MANUAL, THE HE WAS NOT TO OFFICIATE THE NEXT ON COMING MATCH (WHETHER HE WAS THE 1ST OR 2ND REF) IT DOES NOT MATTER. YOU MUST LEAVE THE MAT AND LET THE NEXT TWO REFS COME ON. INSTEAD, HE STAYED ON AND REFFRED THE 160 POUND MATCH AS WELL.
NOW, ANYONE WHO SAW ALL OF THE RED FLAG CALLS DURING THE MATCH ARE NOT INSANE, THERE WAS A PERCEIVED BIASED REF ON THE MATCH. DID THIS BIAS REF CHANGE THE OUTCOME OF THE MATCH????? WHO KNOWS, BUT YOU ALL YOU CAN REALLY DO IS CONGRATULATE SAULLE AND VISICARO AS IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULTS.
BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT, THE REFEREE WHO WAS ON THE MAT FOR THE 152 POUND MATCH AND SUBSEQUENTLY REFFED THE 160 POUND MATCH ABSOULUTELY VIOLATED THE REREREE HANDBOOK WHEN HE HAND PICKED OUT THAT MATCH AND OFFICIATED IT.
HOPEFULLY MOVING FOWARD, THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN TO ANOTHER WRESTLER EVER.
If you have a concern, with concrete proof like the situation above, then call the NJSIAA. But do not call to just b###h, call if you can simply show and prove inappropriateness like a above.
PS. Investigagtion #1 was just how the ref violated the rule book, but #2 is about how the ref called phony potentially dangerous, phony stalemates, a phony escape and did not call a take down all which is on video.
Thank you to the NJSIAA
