Lou Delmonte was caught breaking the rules big time when he officiated back to back matches at states.
-This is an extremely, huge rule that he broke. It is clearly stated in the NJ Referee Manual Dated 2008/2009 on page 3. The Conflict of Interest starts out saying, "Anything that could be perceived as a conflict of interest is a conflict of interest".
The number 1, concrete rule in place is that a pair of refs are forbidden to ref back to back matches. Lou Delmonte did the 152 pound match and called off the next pair of refs so he could stay on the mat to do the 160 pound match.
Now, the referee manual calls for an "honor system" where a ref should excuse themself if they are related to a wrestler, coached a wrestler, coached at the high school of a wrestler, if they are from the same conference and reffed a kid's matches during that season, etc., etc., etc.
Now, some of those rules may seem subjective, for example, Lou Delmonte is a Shore Conference Ref who reffed Visicaro more than a couple of times during the season, including sectionals, etc. so he PROBABLY should have excused himself.
HOWEVER, HE BROKE A CONCRETE RULE WHEN HE OFFICIATED BACK TO BACK MATCHES AT STATES. Now, what is really sad is he did not call Saulle's Merkel takedown in the 3rd. THE WHOLE ENTIRE STADIUM KNOWS IT AND SO DO YOU. See, if a neutral ref did the match and didn't call it, you can't point the finger, but Lou Delmonte did in FACT BREAK THE RULES.
So here is your chance to address the Bull$hit since you have smoking gun evidence that a ref cheated. This is a story that is way bigger than any wrestler, than any match, than any individual. Everyone knows that corruptness happens at the NJ States, every coach will tell you, every ref will tell you, etc., but it's done so shady it's hard to concretely prove. YET THERE IS CONCRETE PROOF AND EVIDENCE HERE.
You have a chance to use your Jounalism to protect all future wreslers. So it's up to do something about it or you can look the other way and continue to be part of the corruption.
The ball is in your court Max. And don't hide behind calling someone crazy. The facts have been laid out and now what are you going to do about the cheating/corruption??????
