You can see it in so-called "education" in the government schools, which today looks much more like Secularist brainwashing. You can see it in the Left-wing parties that all parrot the same mantras about the War on Terror: "It's all about oil", "There were no WMDs" etc. They assiduously ignore the historical fact that Saddam shifted weaponry into Iran and Syria prior to the 1991 Gulf War, and probably did it again in 2003; that a Ba'ath Party official of Saddam's government buried parts of a gas centrifuge for uranium enrichment (a technolgy used for nuclear weapons) in the back-yard of his home, and that there's a trail of nuclear technology — of a level used in weaponry, not power generation — linking Lybia, North Korea, China, Iran and Iraq. What is it about these guys? In the United States, you even have people like Senator Ted Kennedy and presidential hopeful John Kerry spouting this stuff. How come they hate their own country more than the people who are out to destroy it? How come Bill Clinton and Al Gore allowed the sale of sophisticated missile-control technology to the Chinese, from whom they got illegal campaign contributions? (OK, I know the answer to that one: even the desire for power corrupts some people.) But the others — the New York Times, the Washington Post, ABC, CBS and NBC, the Los Angeles Times, TIME and Newsweek magazines — what's their beef? The answer, I think, is that they all share a basically Marxist view of man, history and politics, and a Keynsian view of economics. So they absolutely hate people with a Christian view of man, history and politics, or Hayek's approach to economics. Now, hold your breath; don't hyperventilate. I'm not calling all these people and Jack Layton and Paul Martin "communists"; what I'm saying is that they have a Marxist view of history, politics and economics. Essentially, it boils down to this: they see man as a strictly economic animal. That's how come Bill Clinton's re-election team came up with the slogan, "It's the economy, stupid!" But man is much, much more than an economic cipher. As Christianity makes clear, human beings — even those that are still in the womb — are made in the image of God, "a little lower than the angels" — but we will one day judge angels. Man is a moral free agent in a universe inexorably governed by the absolute sovereignty of God. They can't stand that idea. They'd rather side with their own nations' enemies than concede that we are morally responsible, morally accountable creatures. They'd rather teach their children — and ours — that we crawled up out of the slime ("From goo to you, by way of the zoo") that we are merely DNA-with-legs, operating by brute instinct and unable to choose anything better. Anything rather than face their own accountability. But they're wrong.
