Posted by Chris T. O'Pherson Stan Keyes has obviously already conceeded defeat. The Christopherson campaign must have over 1000 signs in the riding, and I'd be surprised if Keyes has more than 100 people who have agreed to have a sign on their lawn. It's quite eerie to have a cabinet Minister be so publicy rebuked by his constituents. I haven't been in Hamilton East since the election, but somehow I doubt Valeri's campaign is going as badly. One texter said, "My in-laws in Stoney Creek says that there are a more NDP signs than Liberal. They think Valeri will lose because the Liberals are hated and they aren't happy with what happened to Copps. My father in law, who has only ever cast a ballot for the Liberal party refuses to vote for them this time." Liberals in trouble Liberal Party strategist told me today that the Liberals are fighting the NDP for third-party status. I'm told even Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham is in a race with the NDP, that the Conservatives will likely take at least three and maybe six Toronto seats and that the Conservatives are in the battle for all the Windsor-area seats (including those currently belonging to the NDP). Just reading in the Belleville newspaper that the NDP campaign manager and volunteer is named Shawn Talbot. In the 1999 Ontario provincial election the Green Party candidate was one Shawn Talbot, who took over when Trueman Tuck jumped ship to Independent Reform. I'm assuming they are one and the same. For people on the ground actually working on NDP campaigns are you finding may former Greens working on your campaigns? I know much has been made of high profile Greens such as Joan Russow (well as high profile as a Green can get) endorsing the NDP but I'm interested in the local campaign level as this Shawn Talbot seems to show that Ontario is going NDP thanks to right-wing Greens and left-wing Liberals.

Craig Oliver just said on Mike Duffy's show on CTV a few minutes ago that Liberal sources in Hamilton have conceded to him that they expect to lose Stan Keyes and Tony Valeri - didn't say to whom, but I assume to the NDP.
