I've always stood my ground and said I will desex my babies. But I have been told by other breeders that it is not good to put them through such pain, there is no veterinary evidence that supports early desexing and they think it could be detrimental and that the new owners should have the choice. Well there will be NO backyard devon breeders from me or my babies. I will eventually sell for breeding but not to anyone that doesn't agree about the early desexing. I just think it is so unfair not to the owner or breeder but for the cat, who doesn't deserve to have litters to any tom that wants her or a stud spraying in the house that gets dumped because people don't like the smell or problems. Desexing is the only way in my book. I totally agree with you there Marianna.
