A friend of mine has two birmans ..they have a lovely time together but are not anywhere NEAR as active as my burmese girls who I think would torture the laid back birmans. Maybe check the shelters for a birman who needs a home ...?? I agree with Marianna about leaving a cat outdoors alone ..It is not safe for them ..I have an outdoor enclosure my cats can go in and out of the house as they like but are safe from traffic or dogs or stuff . But a companion sounds like a good idea..you can never have too many cats...
