Thanks for the advice. It was very useful. I will look at another breed. I also like british shorthairs but I would like a smaller cat. M y birman is a big boy and my friends tease him about being fat. He's not, he's just really fluffy! When he has a bath his fur flattens down and he looks like a normal cat. I have to show photos of bathtimes to prove he's not fat.
