Through our extended family we learn to care and have responsibility for others (a very needed lesson for children), we gain a depth of love that I believe is benificial to our health and goes two ways, all these things contribute to our mental well-being - so much so, that hospitals have companion pets visit the aged and ill to aid in their mental well-being. With our furry companions we gain so much that I could write pages and pages and I'm really sure that I could research some very famous 'smart' people and find that they, also, had furries sharing their trials and tribulations. Who ever said "People who have pets have no brains...." is a real dill and clearly never researched the topic.

Well, I'm a "people" with pets and I have brains - and I have proof. I am a mother of two beautiful furries, Shadow and Tzuki and two beautiful girls, I have a hubby and a small business and I have also completed 5 years of university, undertaking a double degree, Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts - fulltime - and graduated with Honours. So I don't feel like I have "no brains" - I admit to feeling tired at times, but definately not stupid.
