oh bugger ..cats will do this ..my guys will play lizards and frogs and anything else they find to death too. You cant trust them ..it is a cat thing. I managed to train my dog to ignore them but the cats are a whole different ballgame .All I do is save each lizard /frog/ mouse that I can. You either watch them all the time, put them in an area with NO lizards ,or even worse cane toads..or be prepared for deads ...sigh ... Sorry I can't be of more help ...poor lizards!
