They can be very stubborn. If they want something they will do everything to get it: it means if they want to get out and you lock them up, they might easily become destructive and nervous. If they want to sleep in your bed and you lock the door, they will not let you sleep, they will be so noisy! You want a cat with interesting personality...what you mean when you say that? All cats have interesting personalities in some way. What exactly do you hope for in a new cat? Are you happy with the Birman's personality? In which way you want the new kitty to be different or more 'interesting'? We might come up with an ideal breed for you if you tell them what you would like to have... Marianna

Well, almost all of my significantly younger cats have an 'upper paw' here in my house, the oldest ones are the most submissive ones, I am afraid. It has nothing to do wit age, it has to do with the cats' personalities! A young kitten can be very easily the boss of all cats in the house!
