Posted by Mel on June 14, 2006, 1:02 pm I haven't logged onto this site in over a year and I'm glad to see it is still going strong, as it's such a great forum :-) I'm hoping someone might have some advice/ideas for me regarding my two very rowdy Burmese cats. I have a male and female Burmese and I love them both dearly but they often drive me insane at night and in the mornings. Both cats used to sleep on my bed at night but over the last 6 months I've got them used to being locked out of the bedroom most nights, so I at least get a few nights of undisturbed sleep. They seem to have adjusted quite well to the change, however sometimes they will wake me up at night or very early in the morning by scratching on the door and crying to be let in. It's rather disturbing, especially when my partner stays over. I've tried spraying the door and it's surrounds with a pet repellant spray and that seemed to work for a while, however it doesn't seem to work well anymore. Unfortunately I only live in a small unit, so confining them to another area of the house is not an option at present. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might be able to do to try and stop this behaviour? They are aged 5 and 7, so maybe they are too old to be retrained?? Any suggestions or ideas you might have would be much appreciated! Thanks, Mel
