Posted by Marianna on October 7, 2006, 5:02 pm, in reply to "Stud pants, Marianna?" Still, I will help you the best I can. Cats do not bring their outdoor habits inside, they spray indoors only when they are anxious. Anxiety might be caused by a stray cat around the house or one of the cats in the house might be upsetting the cat that sprays. Even though they all seem to get along and do not get into heated arguments, they still can be annoyed by each other's presence. Especially if there is a dominant cat among them who wants to keep them all under control. If the cat sprays it means he does not feel safe in the house or is upset by something else. About Stud pants: I used them yes, on my stud boy 3 years ago. I do not breed any longer. But it worked perfectly for my boy Sam - he was a big sprayer and the stud pants allowed him to be indoors whenever he wanted to. He learned to stop at the door and wait for the pants before he came in and if he needed to go to the toilet he stopped at the door and cried. It is not easy to use a cat to wearing stud pants. I was lucky, Sam used to it fast and did not mind it.He was a real calm cat, not nervous and not energetic. Not every cat is likely to tolerate this though. I made the stud pants myself it is easy, you be creative! I put panty pads in the middle and changed them as they got wet. Here are some photos of my Sam wearing the pants (he lives with one of his daughters now - in one of my friends' home, he is desexed and does not spray any more) Also you have a good explanation about how to make stud pants on this web site: Good luck Karen! Cheers

I am sorry Karen, I have not seen your message this is the first time I looked into Cat Forums in last few months, and even now only because I put up an ad on Cats for Sale page. Here is very hectic at the moment, we are moving next week, there are preassuring family traumas, I am in the middle of uni work, and dealing with some serious health issues as well. So off cat chats for a while!
