I really don't think that Goody is saying "he will leave" if he doesn't get his way. What he is saying is that the kids do deserve locker room that is "theirs", with running hot and cold water, showers, a coaches office, a locker room that doesn't stink of sweat and mildew and a factility that you don't have to kill rats to use.
Once again, the locker room and weight room are not owned by the school, they are property of the YMCA.
Doesn't the district still own Oakland school? What kinda of renovations could be done there to make a locker room and weight room?
How much would it cost for a Poll Barn type structure, or as SCC mentioned above, the plan to enclose the bottom of the stadium was a good one.
CATS1, while the new schools provide plenty of parking and ample space to build a first rate facility, the cost to buy bleachers, build a press box, and a field house big enough to have 2 teams dress there, would certainly be way beyond what the district can afford. If you move the football team out to the new school what do you do with the soccer teams? Do you have the same problem as the old stadium, everyone using the same field and no money to maintain it? Hey, if you're gonna shoot for the moon, might as well ask for field turf too.
What CAmbridge needs is a rich alumni to donate enough to the district to make it a reality, I'm sure they'll even name it after you. Anyone willing to put it in your will? How does this sound, The Cats 1 Memorial Fieldhouse? Or, The CAtTAles Locker room Complex. Or the BroadCATster memorial Athletic Facitlity?
