The Lady Cats sent Meadowbrook home early tonight, posting an 11-1 six inning victory over the Lady Colts. Paige Young picked up the win, allowing 4 hits and recording 5 strike outs. The only run scored by the Colts was unearned.
The first two innings were ruled by the pitchers, with Meadowbrook drawing first blood in the third with the help of two uncharacteristic Bobcat errors. Cambridge answered in the bottom of the third as Alexa Kafury and Sarah Starr drew walks and were brought home on a single by Lacie Mahley.
Cambridge added 4 more in the fourth on a walk, two Colt errors, a single by Sarah Starr and a 2 RBI single by Mahley. The Cats put the game away in the sixth with 4 more runs on 5 singles.
Lacie Mahley led the way offensively with 3 singles and 4 RBI's while Alexa Kafury had 2 singles with 2 big RBI's to end the game and Sarah Starr added 2 singles. Maggie Starr, Megan Tharp (1 RBI) and Carly Kehn (2 RBI's) all added singles and Janelle Givens had an RBI on a fielder's choice.
Cambridge is now 7 - 0. The combined pitching of Paige Young and Summer Allen has given up no earned runs. Their opponents have managed two unearned runs while the Cats have tallied an impressive 72 runs!
Cambridge is scheduled to travel to Claymont tomorrow night for a rescheduled ECOL match-up.
