The Lady Cats could only muster 3 hits tonight and fell to Meadowbrook by a 4-1 score. Paige Young absorbed the loss, moving to 14-3 on the season. She gave up 7 hits, 3 walks and struck out 5.
Meadowbrook's Kinsi Tellep kept the Cats off balance all night, allowing a lead-off single by Sarah Starr who was stranded, a solo homer by Megan Tharp in the 4th to account for the only Cambridge run, and a single by Maggie Starr in the 6th. Carly Kehn reached on an error and also walked and Janelle Givens walked to account for the only other Cambridge baserunners.
Tellep finished with 11 strikeouts and 2 walks for Meadowbrook.
Both teams will play for their respective division championships in the OVAC tournament tomorrow at the I-470 complex in Wheeling. Cambridge will meet Wheeling Park at 10:30am.
