The Lady Cats suffered their 4th loss of the season tonight at Dover by a 2-0 score. Paige Young gave up 5 hits, struck out 3 and walked 1.
The game unfolded as a pitcher's duel as neither team could put more than 2 hits together in an inning. In the bottom of the 6th, two Cambridge errors along with 2 Dover hits allowed the Tornadoes to score both of their unearned runs. Cambridge threatened in the top of the 7th as Janelle Givens reached on an infield single and Alexa Kafury singled, but a fielder's choice ended the game.
Cambridge had just 4 hits in the contest, all singles, by Lacie Mahley, Givens, Kafury and Carly Kehn.
Cambridge is now 21-4, 9-3 in league play. They will host Dover in the final home contest of the season on Tuesday as the Lady Cats will celebrate Senior Night following the game. Game time is 5pm.
