Local honorees at OVAC Banquet of Champions

Special honorees at the OVAC Banquet of Champions from the local area included Laura Dunlap of Buckeye Trail, recipient of the DeLuca Realty Volleyball Scholarship; Nick Liptak of Cambridge, recipient of the Bodkin, Wilson & Kozicki OVAC Soccer Scholarship; Jordan Croucher of Caldwell, recipient of the Kroger Scholarship; and Meadowbrook High golf coach Mel Pesuit, a finalist for the OVAC Coach of the Year Award.
Unable to attend was Emily Jirles of Meadowbrook, recipient of the OVAC Basketball Scholarship.
Co-winners of the OVAC Coach of the Year Award at the fete were Robert "Bubba" Kapral, head track coach at St. John Central, and Mel Stephens, head boys' basketball coach at Wheeling Central.
