In the Eastern District Cross Country meet hosted by Cambridge High School on Saturday, Oct. 24, the first race will go off at 1 p.m. due to ACT testing that day.
The first race of the day will be the Division III girls, with teams from Barnesville, Bellaire, Caldwell, Fort Frye, Frontier, Garaway, Malvern, Martins Ferry, Newcomerstown, Ridgewood, River, Sandy Valley, Shadyside, St. John Central, Strasburg, Tuscarawas Central Catholic, Tuscarawas Valley and Union Local. Four teams and 16 individuals not on qualifying teams advance to regional action at Pickerington.
The Division II girls’ races will follow, with the Eastern District splitting them into two races (District A and District B). Four teams and 16 individuals not on qualifying teams advance to Pickerington for the Regional from each race.
The teams competing in District A are Minerva, Carrollton, New Philadelphia, Buckeye Local, West Holmes, Morgan, West Muskingum, Indian Creek, John Glenn, Meadowbrook and Edison. In the District B Division II girls race will be St. Clairsville, Harrison Central, Dover, Claymont, River View, Cambridge, Indian Valley, East Liverpool, Maysville, Zanesville and Philo.
The fourth race of the day will be the Division III boys, consisting of Barnesville, Bellaire, Caldwell, Fort Frye, Garaway, Malvern, Newcomerstown, Ridgewood, River, Shadyside, St. John Central and Tuscarawas Central Catholic. Four teams and 16 individuals not on qualifying teams advance to the regional to be hosted by Pickerington.
The final race will be the Division II boys, which has 24 teams to advance four teams and 16 individuals to the regional at Pickerington. Competing in this division are Minerva, Carrollton, Buckeye Local, West Holmes, Morgan, West Muskingum, Indian Creek, John Glenn, Meadowbrook, Edison, St. Clairsville, Harrison Central, Dover, Claymont, River View, Cambridge, Indian Valley, East Liverpool, Maysville, Philo, Martins Ferry, Sandy Valley, Tuscarawas Valley and Union Local.
