STEUBENVILLE — Beaver Local, with a sterling mark of 11-1-2, garnered the top seed in the Division II boys’ sectional draw. Host Steubenville (10-4-1) picked up the No. 2.
Cambridge (4-9-1) was tabbed No. 7 seed and will have a rematch with No. 4 St. Clairsville (7-4-2), who they tied in regular season play, on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. on the turf of Harding Stadium.
Edison with a record of 5-8-1 was the No. 8 and East Liverpool (0-12-1) was No. 9 and these two will open sectional play Saturday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m.
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, Steubenville will face off with sixth seeded Minerva (5-6-3) at 6 p.m. and No. 3 Carrollton (7-8) meets No. 5 Indian Creek (7-6) in the 8 p.m. game that night.
Following the Cambridge/St. Clairsville match Wednesday, No. 1 Beaver Local will take on the winner of the Edison/East Liverpool contest at 8 p.m.
Finals in the two brackets are set for Saturday, Oct. 24 with the Steubenville/Minerva winner playing the Carrollton/Indian Creek winner at 10 a.m. with the winner to advance to the Warsaw District Tournament to face the River View upper bracket winner.
The other finals match will pit the Cambridge/St. Clairsville winner against the winner of the Beaver Local—Edison/East Liverpool match at 12:30 p.m. for the other berth in the district tournament at River View against the River View lower bracket winner.
