STEUBENVILLE - Cambridge will take part in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Volleyball Championships at the Steubenville High School gymnasium on Saturday.
Cambridge finished as the No. 2 seed in Class 4-A, just behind Indian Creek.
The tournament begins Saturday at 9 a.m. with the Class 1-A semifinals featuring No. 1 Bellaire St. John Central against No. 4 Bridgeport on Court #1 and No. 2 Paden City against No. 3 Morgantown Trinity Christian on Court #2. The two winners will then vie for the championship.
Next up at noon will be the Class 2-A tournament, with No. 1 Lore City Buckeye Trail playing No. 4 Barnesville on Court #1 and No. 2 Steubenville Catholic facing No. 3 Woodsfield Monroe Central on Court #2. Those two winners will them meet for the crown.
Class 3-A action follows at 3 p.m., with No. 1 Oak Glen taking on No. 4 Martins Ferry on Court #1 and No. 2 St. Clairsville battling No. 3 Edison on Court #2. The championship game will again follow.
Finally, the Class 4-A event takes center stage at 6 p.m., with No. 1 Wintersville Indian Creek going against No. 4 Beaver Local on Court #1 and No. 2 Cambridge opposing No. 3 East Liverpool on Court #2. The 4-A chamionship match will conclude the day's action.
Last year’s champions were Edison (4-A), St. Clairsville (3-A), Monroe Central (2-A) and Beallsville (1-A).
