NEW PHILADELPHIA — The Cambridge High boys’ soccer team played to a 0-0 tie with East Ohio Central League opponent New Philadelphia on Tuesday.
A red card forced the ’Cats to play with only 10 players for most of the game, but they held strong, not allowing the Quakers to score.
“Our kids played real well with a man down,” said Cambridge mentor J.R. Fox. “It was an outstanding game, probably one of our better ones controlling the ball and playing hard.”
Goalie Matt Drotovick stopped eight shots for Cambridge while Harry Springer recorded seven saves for New Philadelphia.
Both teams managed 10 shots-on-goal.
