In the boys’ Division II race, St. Clairsville (46 points), Sandy Valley (115), River View (149) and West Holmes (156) were the four teams moving on to regional action. John Glenn finished 15th with a score of 391, Cambridge was 17th with 405 points and Meadowbrook with 512 points was 19th.
Sean Jones of Indian Valley claimed the individual championship with a winning time of 15:39.27 followed by Cory Dotts of Claymont with a 15:44.13 and Stephen Hammond of River View close behind with a 15:44.31.
The lone area individual moving on is Zak Geiger of John Glenn, who finished ninth in 16:46.63.
The Division III girls’ race was split into two flights, with four teams and 16 individuals advancing from each flight.
In the A flight, Minerva (47 points), Carrollton (59), West Holmes (97) and New Philadelphia were the four teams advancing. The Lady Colts of Meadowbrook finished ninth with 187 points and the Lady Muskies of John Glenn were 10th with 240 points.
Kaylee Nutter of West Muskingum won the A flight race with a time of 19:19.46 with Dettra of Meadowbrook the lone local individual runner to move on from this flight with a 14th place finish (21:14.03).
In the B flight, St. Clairsville (28 points), Dover (82), Harrison Central (86) and Claymont with 104 points are the teams moving on to regional action. In this flight, Cambridge finished sixth with 150 points.
St. Clairsville claimed the two top individual spots with Kelly Perzanowski turning in a winning time of 18:36.03 and teammate Kate Hodgson finishing second with a time of 19:28.10. No local individual runners from this flight are moving on to the regional meet.
NEXT— All of the regional qualifying teams and individuals compete at Pickerington on Saturday, with action starting at 11 a.m.
