Several players from the Bobcat boys' and girls' soccer teams earned recognition on the Eastern District Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association all-star teams for 2009.
On the boys' side, first team accolades went to senior Tim Fox.
Second team honors went to junior Chris Pearson.
Gaining honorable mention was seniors Ryan Jamiel, Andrew Bertubin and Matt Drotovick and junior Tanner Balik.
For the girls, senior Ashley Carr earned first team recognition.
Second teamer was senior Paige Carpenetti.
Honorable mention picks included seniors Niki Baker and Katelyn Goodwin and juniors Molly Ritz and Emily Messino.
Selected to play in the Eastern District All-Star Game today at noon at Dover Middle School for the East boys were Fox, Drotovick and Jamiel.
The girls' game will include Carr and Carpenetti on the East team.
Special award winners for Eastern District boys included:
Players of the year - Brodie Miller of Tri-Valley (D-I); Kyle Dummermuth of Dover (D-II); Cary Albaugh of West Muskingum (D-III).
Coaches of the year - Dale Ross of Tri-Valley (D-I); Gary Watt of St. Clairsville (D-II); Ryan Barks of West Muskingum (D-III).
Assistant coaches of the year - Mike Burr of River View (D-II); Dave Grahm of West Muskingum (D-III).
Official of the Year - Jamie Duling.
Team Sportsmanship - Minerva (D-II); Zanesville Roscrans (D-III).
Special award winners for Eastern District girls included:
Players of the year - Rachel Morrison of New Philadelphia (D-I); Jaclyn Dutton of St. Clairsville (D-II).
Coaches of the year - Todd Riley of Zanesville (D-I); Ryanne Hartman of Maysville (D-II).
Assistant coaches of the year - Stephanie Brennen of Tri-Valley (D-I); Keith Shaner of Philo (D-II).
Team Sportsmanship - Dover (D-I); Maysville (D-II).
