
Posted by CatTales LANCASTER — Cambridge sophomore Skyler Roederer advanced to district competition with a score of 79 on Monday at the Division I Sectional Golf Tournament at Valley View Golf Course.

“He [Roederer] persevered in tough conditions and has been improving all year,” Cambridge coach Kevin Smith offered. “I’m glad to see his hard work has paid off.”
“After the first nine our team was right in there,” Smith stated of his team’s overall performance. “The back nine was our undoing, but everyone has been doing well and the whole team has been improving.”
As a team, Cambridge finished in sixth with a score of 334. Tri-Valley finished in first place (317), followed by Carrollton (318), Marietta (324), Logan (333), Zanesville (333), Warren Local (335), New Philadelphia (349), Dover (356), West Holmes (366) and Chillicothe (405).
Cambridge’s other scores included Trevor Wilkinson (83), Trey Black (84) and Levi Parsons (88).
Tri-Valley, Carrollton and Marietta will advance to the district tournament, along with Zanesville’s Austin Mills (79) and Derald Madsen (79).
