Friday evening, Dover (11-1) advanced to the Finals in D-III, Region 11 with a 41-35 win over previously unbeaten Minerva (11-1). Dover entered the game as the region's two-seed, while Minerva had the three-seed. Dover now advances to the regional title game on Friday, Nov. 18. Dover faces Youngstown Cardinal Mooney (8-3). Mooney edged out previously unbeaten and regions 11's top-ranked Steubenville Big Red (11-1), 24-22, on a field goal with just 5 seconds remaining in the game.
Saturday, November 12th will see the remaining two ECOL teams take the field.
In D-IV, Region 15, the region's fifth-seeded Coshocton Redskins (9-2) will face top-seeded St. Clairsville (10-1) in Zanesville's Sulsberger Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM. The winner will face the Ironton (7-4)-Johnstown-Monroe winner next Saturday in the Region 15 title game.
In D-VI, Region 23, the Bishops of Zanesville Rosecrans (7-4) will face 2nd seeded New Washington Buckeye Central (9-2) at Westerville Central's Warhawk Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM. The winner will face the Beallsville (9-2)-Willow Wood Symmes Valley (10-1) winner next Saturday in the Region 23 title game.
