There is another benefit to exercise, it helps to invigorate and decrease depression. Its a natural process. The endorphins kick in and while you are exercising you do NOT feel much pain.
It is natures pain killer. However, when you wind down a few hours later, it is like leaving physical therapy, you are going to feel pain. Nobody said that exercise is a cure all, or a pleasant way to discipline and make your body stronger but you need every weapon you can find and in exercise you also build up your immune system.
If you eat sweets even four times a week, expect MORE pain. Expect a depressed immune system, and for sure, expect more weight to pile on.
SUGAR is POISON to the system and you are well aware of this fact.
If you find that you are using food to assuage hurt, pain or unhappiness in your life, try to distract yourself and reach out to help somebody worse off than yourself.
Taking the focus OFF you, will decrease your need to assuage your own pain.
I know it is easier said than done but I think that with the new year approaching it is time for everybody to become MORE proactive in their own health care.
Just living off bottles and bottles of chemical drugs is not going to make you better. Some drugs are a necessity of course, but too often, so many times, too many people take too many drugs. And, still swear that they are hurting, in pain and just as badly off.
SO WHY PUT THAT INTO YOUR BODY AS ITS NOT WORKING ANYWAY? If it is working, thanks be to GOD, you are no longer suffering!
The most important thing to remember is that we are complex in our make up.
We must look after our soul and spiritual health whatever that means to you, our bodies and in doing this, we are actually HONOURING the birth OF JESUS for we, think about this, are MADE IN GOD'S IMAGE.
So to destroy our bodies is not what was intended
On the other side of the coin, it is unbelievable to most of us that we are the chosen ones to suffer day in and day out. Nothing is more debilitating in a life than chronic pain.
Suffering that has NO end and NO apparent beginning is hard to reconcile with being a child of God, for why should this be allowed to happen to us: Know that there is a reason we do not fathom at the time, but will in God's own time.
It is of small comfort I know but in honouring our bodies, we are doing the best that we can do.
And in distracting ourselves in aid of OTHERS, human and animal we are demonstrating what love is all about, and although this is a season of love, all too often it has become commercialized and a frenzy of overbuying, building up debt in a poor economy, and buying things nobody needs or wants, or if they do want it, it is way above budget.
Remember that it is also your responsibility to look after your financial health.
And before you put anything more on a credit card, PAY IT OFF and refuse to allow the balance to be so high as not to be able to pay it off monthly.
Clear your credit cards, the interest, if you bother to calculate it, is criminal. Also, if you are living above your means, it WILL CATCH UP WITH YOU.
And, if you clear your cards best you can, for as long a time as it takes, PUT THEM AWAY only for emergency, and stop running up the bills.
Debts run up also reflect on people who do pay their bills, they are also penalized in rising interest rates, it just does NOT affect the debtor.
It affects the whole ecnonomy. So buy responsibly.
If you cannot afford Christmas this year, have a nice dinner, love one another, play music and just enjoy each others company. Christmas is mainly for Children anyway - small children.
Start using your debbit card instead of your credit card, for then you can keep track of your bank account balance and will not be able to overspend and place yourself in an even bigger financial hole. If you cannot do any of this, see a financial counsellor.
Most of us are taught as children to handle money but if you are one that was not, it is not too late to become financially responsible.
It does not take a rocket scientist to understand the economics of debt and living beyond your means.
For people who do not have jobs, or are being laid off, this is a particularly difficult time of year.
We must all try to help them. Give to food banks, give to pet shelters, give responsibly to help your fellow traveller
At the same time help to counsel them for it is wise to put away for a rainy day!
Do not realy on family to bring you t hrough economic hardships as most families are suffering in the same way that you are.
The people that lose jobs are in the worst position as they have no choice - they must pay their rent and must eat to live.
My heart goes out to them if they are also suffering from pain and ill health.
There are things that these unfortunate people can do, but the road is long and difficult. It is up to the rest of us, to make sure that we are FINANCIALLY responsible.
And to help others to learn how to be - if they cannot control spending or money.
Debts bring a lot of stress onto people, as most people do NOT like to owe others.
It is no joy to know that a person owes another for goods, services , debts etc.
So now is also the time to buckle down and pull back from spending and to put money away for a rainy day which is sure to come down the road, even worse than it is now.
Distracting yourself from pain, by reaching out to others, if you do not work, volunteer somewhere once a week, or get a part time job in order to help with finances.
If you do not need to work, then helping our a neighbour, an elderly friend will bring the focus off your pain and distract you from your own plight.
Writing to encourage others, caring for others, caring for animals and cherishing them, all these things help to take the awful burden of pain away from us.
Nothing eliminates it but we can CHOOSE to go down a path of enlightenment and proactive health care, or we can wither away on the vine getting worse and worse, or we can dust ourselves off and determine to help ourselves as much as possible.
Living with pain is not easy.
It is a miserable bedfellow and most of us are up for hours every night suffering, night after night after night and it seems as though the awful cloak of pain will never never slide off our shoulders. We must bear the pain with fortitude because to date, there is no cure.
We must try therefore, to be sweet, gentle and good natured with the ones who care about us and to never take out our illness on our nearest and dearest for this is totally unfair of us if we were to do this. Keeping our own pain to ourselves is a strong way to be.
We can cry on our loved ones shoulders, share the pain with others, and that is a GOOD way to relieve the distress, but to be bad tempered, snippy or mean to anybody and to take our OUR distres on others is not an acceptable behaviour in any way , shape or form.
Those of us who have suffered pain for so many years understand this.
A child will get testy and throw tantrums while sick, but we are mature adults and we must bear the pain with fortitude and be grateful for the support and love that we get.
There are some gifts to be thankful for this year.
There are some that we are not thankful for.
But we all can rejoice in the celebration of the Christ child, who came onto this earth to save us, so we are taught and believe in the Christian faith, and it is a time for joy, for sharing, caring.
At this time, I send you my love to you all. I cannot begin to tell you what joy you have all brought into my life.
How I regard each and every one of you as part of my family, and how, if I have even begun to help any one of you, it has made the pain worth it.
I truly feel close to you all, and this train of sufferers who are so brave, so loving and so true to their own selves have been a wonderful experience in my life
Merry Christmas and a HAPPY, PAINFREE and HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL, LOVE MERM
