Turning to his friend, the Dwarf said, “Let’s go! Tis best to leave ungrateful maidens be, I say, since there is neither reward nor profit to be gained here.”
“Agreed!” nodded the Horseman, “Hey! Do you smell something--burning?”
“Aye! I do!” The Dwarf turned in the direction of the city of Fair Weather, “Look!”
On the horizon, four distant plumes of black smoke could be seen coming from the skyline of the free city.
“A fire in Fair Weather?” inquired the Horseman holding up a hand to shield his eyes from the afternoon suns.
"A fire?" she repeated what the horseman said, "Is that normal? No. It can't be normal or is it?"
“So it would seem,” acknowledged the Dwarf before he turned to Alyson, “There is work to be done, your ladyship. Urgent work by the looks of it. Care to lend a hand?”
"Hmm," she mused quietly, "Very well, sirs." Alyson motioned to the swiftwind to jump back down to the ground with her following behind. The elementalist quickly mounted the swiftwind and waited for the man and the dwarf to mount so that they could return to the city.
The Human and Dwarf mounted their steed as the Dwarf turned towards Alyson, "We'll lead and you may follow, your ladyship. Tis better we go in first and see what's happening. Those fires may be bigger than any one of us can handle."
With that said, the Human urged his steed onward at a full gallop toward the main road which would take them to Fair Weather.
