Ripping her hand from the chest of the Were-wolf, Kana stood with it's heart in hand as she watched it fall to the ground dead. Her breath silghtly heavy from the tussel, Kana turned her head to Irzen, then made a sweep of the area for any more Wew-wolves, sencing the air at the same time. Dropping the heart, she took a few steps toward Irzen.
"Serna?" the Wolfen asked him. "She's OK?"
"Yeah, she's fine," Irzen snapped himself out of his amazement at Kana's death strike, "Kana Junior was out of breath the last time I saw her but she's back at the inn and she's doing okay." Taking a look at Kana's blood soaked hand and arm, the Dark Elf shook his head in disbelief, "Dear God, I'm glad you're on our side. How the hell did you do that? Slashing someone with your paws or ripping out an opponent's throat is one thing. But reaching into their chest and ripping out their heart is a heck of a trick."
A quick smile played across the Wolfen's face. "I got a manicure," she answered almost impishly.
"What did your manicurist do?!" Irzen's shock returned at Kana's glib answer, "Sharpen your nails with a diamond-tipped file?!"
A long low solitary howl went up from the general direction both Kana and Irzen were facing. It was followed by another then another and another until a crescendo of howls filled the air and seemed to come at the pair from every direction.
Rounding a corner of a nearby street adjacent to their own, a young woman scarred with claw marks on her face and arms stumbled down the street towards the Kana and Irzen.
"Help me! Please help me!"
"Come on! Let's give her a hand and get the hell out of here before more of those things show up!" The Dark Elf began to take off at a trot towards the wounded woman who dropped to her knees and began to quiver and shake.
"Irzen, wait!" Kana yelled as she ran to stop him. "She's changing into one of those things, so you might as well lop her head off while you can. It's what happened to the one you found me with. I can smell it with her."
As Alyson's summoned rain began to fall, Irzen looked at the woman, then at his sword and finally turned to Kana, "No! Not like this! I'm a Soldier, Kana, not a Butcher! But I see you have your Lightning Bow with you, why don't you use it and fire off an arrow so that you can wrap her up with it. If it works like the Energy Bow of a certain Ranger I know, all you have to do is will it to work. Binding her up will keep her from harming anyone else or us for that matter. Go ahead, give it a shot!"
The Dark Elf stood back and waited to see if Kana could do it.
