Heidi shivered as she looked down and saw the five vultures waiting for her, and she could see her sword still sticking out the one she had slain. She reached up with her right hand and tried to grab hold of something to steady herself and take the weight off her injured wrist.
"Help!" She screamed. "Help me! I'm gonna fall!"
Stepping out into the open, Tommy shouted at the Werewolves. "Hey! You lot!" Once Tommy had their attention, he continued in a forceful tone with just an edge of growl to it, "That one" – pointing towards Heidi but without taking his gaze from the Werewolves – "is mine." He brought his hand back down, jabbing his thumb towards his chest. "Get out of here before you make me angry!" Pointing past them, the Gamer brought his foot down with a loud stomp. "GO!"
The Werewolves took note of The Gamer the instant he showed and began to back away from him. When he pointed up to Heidi, their gaze followed his direction. When he pointed back to himself, their attention returned to Tommy in turn. And when the Gamer pointed off in the distance, they once again followed his hand as well.
Though they may not have liked it through the low growls and hissing that they were doing, they fully understood what the Gamer was saying. When Tommy stomped the ground, the Werewolves tore off down the alley leaving both the Gamer and the Lady Knight in peace.
"What do you know?" Tommy mused briefly, watching the retreating Werewolves. "It actually worked."
Ianto had just finished dragging the unconscious Lieutenant out into the hallway when he heard the Lady Knight's cry for aid. Dashing from the side of the Drow Officer, the Innkeeper raced into the blood-stained bathing room, "Hold on, Heidi, I'm here! I've got you!"
Noticing Heidi's predicament and Tommy's position relative to The Little One, Ianto reached downward and grabbed Heidi's arms about the elbows. Grasping them firmly, Ianto used his legs to dead lift the Corporal from her tenuous position back onto the solid floor of the bathing room.
"I've got her!" Ianto called down to The Gamer, "Get inside, my friend, and be sure to tell the others to barricade the door and windows. We'll be down directly once we've seen--!"
The high pitch scream of a child could be heard from somewhere behind Ianto as the Innkeeper disappeared from view without another word.
Heidi looked down at the Gamer and cradled her injured wrist to her chest, she pointed with her good one to the fallen Werewolf. "My sword, Tommy!" She breathed heavily, "I'm gonna need my sword!" She was exhausted but it wasn't over yet.
The Gamer gave Heidi a quick thumb's up. "Coming right up!" he called to her retreating back. Wrenching it from the Werewolf's chest, various lines from movies suggested themselves to him as he very briefly contemplated throwing the sword through the opening in the wall. "Nah," he decided, "too many things that can go wrong." Spinning around, he sprinted back towards the front door of the Inn, recalling the scream that had distracted Ianto.
With quick thinking, Heidi pulled on her armour, blood in her hair and all over her face. Her left arm was near useless, but she couldn't do anything about that now.
"Sor'n! Where's Sor'n?" She yelled in a panic.
