Irzen gave Kana some room to work as the victim of the Werewolf attack completed her transformation. The creature began to howl just as Kana's lightning arrow wrapped itself around the woman and kept her from rising to her feet.
"Good job, Kana, now all we have to do is--uh oh!"
Kana had her Bow ready again at Irzen's tone, then saw what he saw.
Five Werewolves running on all fours rounded the same corner from which the woman appeared. They stopped in the middle of the street behind the newest Werewolf and were in turn joined by another five Werewolves striding upright sniffing the air and scanning the street before them.
Irzen stood motionless as he watched the creatures halt their advance when they saw both him and Kana. Some of them focused their gaze upon the pair, others unretracted their blood-soaked claws in preparation for battle, all of them were now focused upon the Drow and the Wolfen.
"And you wanted to detain them," the Wolfen breathed under her breath.
"They're operating as a pack now," gasped the Swordsman, "We are screwed!"
As the Werewolves growled, hissed and snarled in challenge to the duo, Irzen kept his eyes on the creatures while he whispered to the Wolfen, "Kana, can you please shake off a few arrows to blind them so we can get out of here without getting torn to pieces? Thanks."
"I hope you're light, cause the only way to get out faster is if you ride me. Here we go," Kana whispered as she took aim and shot off three arrows for a blinding flare. She then strapped the bow to her side and morphed into a Dire wolf, hoping they had the time.
The lightning arrows-turned-flares exploded in a radiant brilliance that forced most of the Werewolves to shy away, duck or hide their eyes.
Without hesitation, Irzen leapt atop Kana's back and screamed, "GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!"
Because Irzen was a Dark Elf and due to a set of Elvish-made chain mail armor that was practically weightless, Kana felt only a minimal amount of mass atop her back as she began their flight from the Werewolves.
When the lights died down, the pair disappeared down the street and the Werewolves cut loose with howls and roars as they charged headlong after the duo.
"Make a right here!" shouted Irzen as he directed Kana back to the Harlech Inn, "Take a left here. Go right here!"
As Irzen and Kana tore down the blood-soaked and rain-drenched streets of Fair Weather, Werewolves that were previously occupied eating someone, converting a victim to their ranks or slaughtering someone took notice of the Dire wolf bearing the Dark Elf and began to give chase.
"Faster! Must go faster! Faster!" pleaded Irzen as he used Evenflow to slash at outstretched paws and maws that attempted to slash or bite both him and Kana.
