"The same thing that would of happened to me, had I done the ceremony," The elementalist knelt down on the side opposite of Lord Irzen. "He will be fine in a day or two depending on the deal he made with those spirits. It could be three hours, or three days. Only the wisest, or fool hardy attempt such ceremonies, and only those who have prior experience,"
Alyson paused and looked at the others in the party, "And I would say that would be Tommy and me. Looks like I'm not the only sorceror in the group. Sorceror's magic is natural and comes from within people like the gamer and myself. We're born with it. Wizards and mages must learn magic and rely on wands and staves and other trinkets to supply magic. Without them, they're just ordinary people."
"That's all well and good, High Lady Alyson," confessed the Swordsman, "But all you have said still does not tell me exactly what has happened to my friend. Is he dead? Is he half-dead? Is he going to become undead? Is he merely unconscious? Or is he slowly dying in my arms? Please tell me exactly what has happened to him rather than why it has happened. Thanks."
Alyson frowned at the swordsman, "He's alive. He's here and not here. His mind is occupied with the three beings he summoned." the elementalist closed her eyes, concentrating for a moment, then opened them. When they did open, they were solid black and in a voice that was not her own, spoke with a warning, "This does not concern you, drow!"
"The devil you say!" snapped The Swordsman defiantly.
Seriah cut in suddenly by splashing water from her cantina in Alyson's face "Enough! Begone! Spirit!" It was enough to snap Alyson out of the trance.
"Huh? What? What happened?" The elementalist staggered back from Tommy and Lord Irzen. She felt dizzy and realized what the gamer had summoned wasn't good, "Oow! I hope that answers your question for now."
"It answers them, Alyson, but I don't like the answer I've gotten," The Dark Elf frowned as he looked down at his fallen friend.
Kana had a small nagging thought that seemed to connect to what Waylon had said about her people and the Pack, but wasn't sure how to proceed.
"How does he channel the magic?" Kana asked curiously as an idea started to form into her mind.
"I don't know," admitted the Swordsman, "He has an Item of Power like we all do, but he was never open with us about what his item was. And I never exactly took the time to rifle through his pockets while he slept. Why do you ask, Kana? Can his Item of Power have anything to do with his current condition?"
"You know, I have an idea, that all of you may want to ponder upon," offered War Scribe, "How about I take all of you back to MY library. The answer to whatever ails Tommy can be found there if it can't be found anywhere else in The Realm. What do you say, guys," The Drowling opened her hands to all of them, "Care for a trip to The Regulators' Memorial Library?"
"My thoughts had gone back to that place, War Scribe," Kana said. "But not for the same reasons. While there, trying to get Willow back, I took whatever crown that was on his head off and had to... um... absorb the power, so to say? Well, there was a fight were I did get injured, but healed almost instantly. Then when we went to the forest I passed out. When I awoke, the grass was a bit greener and longer than the rest. Waylon telling me about my kind and having an ability cleared things up for me. Especially with my Teacher. But if Tommy has an Item of Power he draws off of, I'm not sure I can be of much help. And I only have an idea of what to do."
The Gamer had nothing to add to the conversation at this point.
"If you have an idea which you think could help Tommy then by all means share it, Kana," The Dark Elf suggested, "Now is not the time to hold out on us--especially with someone's life in the balance."
Turning to the Drowling, Irzen added, "And War Scribe, for once, you actually came up with a good idea."
"Thanks!" beamed the Chronicler before she frowned, "Hey! Was that a backhanded compliment or what?"
Moving Tommy up to a sitting position, the Dark Elf slipped his arm around Tommy's shoulder and tried to hoist the Gamer to his feet, "Good grief! What has he been eating? He weighs a ton. Willow, can you help me out here?"
The Ranger slipped under The Gamer's other arm to support him while Irzen announced to everyone, "I'm taking Tommy to The Great Library to find a cure for his condition. If you want to come along and help, you're more than welcome to do it. If you want to return to The Harlech Inn and tell Neven about Tommy's fate, go right ahead. I will not think less of you for doing it."
The Dark Elf turned to The Elementalist, "High Lady Alyson, I cannot and will not wait for whatever has Tommy to let him go a day, a week, a month or a year from now. I want my friend back and I want him back now. If we cannot find what we need in War Scribe's Library, then his cure was never mean't to be found." Addressing everyone else he added, "Are you coming with us or staying behind ladies? Kana? Serna? Seriah? Alyson?"
"I'm with Mistress Kana," declared Serna looking towards The Wolfen, "Whatever she wants to do and wherever she wants to go, I will do the same."
((OOC Tommy: Tommy's physical condition is stable, but any attempt to waken or communicate with him will fail. On the off chance that anybody has some magic or ability that would allow them to detect such, his soul is not currently in residence.))
((OOC: An intriguing dilemma to say the least. Resolving this one should be interesting.))
