e Gamer shrugged. "I could hazard a few guesses, but that's all they'd be. I'm more interested in figuring out what we're going to do with the Talisman, assuming we can get it from Aurilaz. We are all in agreement that letting the Big V have control over it is a Bad Thing, yes?" His gaze quickly swept the group. "Okay, I've got a couple of ideas. One hinges on my ability to make magic do other than what it's supposed to do. The other hinges on exactly how the Bearer thing works, and whether or not V-Man himself is aware of it. The first will require getting my hands on the thing, the latter talking to Aurilaz. And hey, worst case scenario, Blue Boy's words were 'If you are up to the task of claiming the Eleventh Talisman you shall render it unto me once you have succeeded.' Given what we know about Aurilaz, we may well not be up to the task. Regardless, I'd like to know what thoughts the rest of you have been having on the subject. And no, it is not a coincidence that I waited for War Scribe to be gone to bring up the topic. Please bear that in mind."
"Ugh! Well. Tommy does have a good point. I like it. Though, we should get going soon, yes?" The elementalist perked up.
"I say booby trap it!" snapped Serna with a vicious grin, "The Dark Lord deserves no less for what he put the people of Fair Weather through. If you can find a way to magically alter it, Master Tommy, so that Venger can't use it or if he try to use it in a bad way it blows up in his face that would be good wouldn't it?"
"Yeah!" added Neven with a grin of his own, "I mean Dungeon Master said that The Talisman cannot be taken, that it must be given right? Well, maybe you can booby trap it so that if Venger tries to take it rather than having one of us give it to him, it zaps him or makes him blow up or takes him out for good."
"The Dark Lord did order us to claim The Talisman and to render it unto him," Willow caught on with their line of thinking, "What if rendering it unto him was forcing him to claim it from us. We don't have to give it to him, but if we force him to take it and if Master Tommy can magically adjust it so that it may strike him down for doing so or dissipate its own power then we will be all the better. No one will have it and no one will be able to lay claim to its power ever again."
"That's the general idea," Tommy replied. "That's part of why I'm hoping V doesn't know much about the Talisman. Though how well that trick will work also depends on how the Bearer thing does. Which is why, if I can, I still intend on booby trapping it."
"Sounds like a winner to me," smiled the Swordsman at The Gamer, "I'm all for it. Tommy, if you can pull a magical Trojan Horse on old Horn Head I won't object. I'll leave that matter entirely in your hands since you know far more about your own magic and magical artifacts than I do."
Turning to the Elementalist and the Assassin, Irzen added, "But I do agree with Alyson, time is short and we can analyze a problem for only so long. As soon as Kana and Scribe get back here, you three should hand over your weapons to us and get donned in your robes so we can teleport over to The Topaz Mountains and get this encounter over with."

"Kana, can you please have a seat?" War Scribe pointed to a large rock that sat nearby, "There is something that I have to tell you."
Kana walked over and took a seat, knowing that something was bothering her, and waited for her to continue.
The Drowling sighed as she dropped to one knee and took The Wolfen's hands into her own. Staring up at Kana with pure affection in her eyes, War Scribe sighed, "Kana, there is no easy way for me to say this. You're one of my bestest friends in the whole wide Realm. You always accepted me for who and what I was regardless of what I did and you never, EVER asked for anything in return." The Drowling cheered up a little, "You even had the decency to snap my neck when we had our pillow fight over Willow--and that was a very thoughtful thing for you to do. It really was."
Kana gave a slight smile at the difference of thought during that time.
Looking up into The Wolfen's eyes, War Scribe added with pain-filled eyes, "Kana, I'm just going to come out and say it: The Mercy Family did not catch up with you without help, I led them to you!"
The Drowling quickly added, "They tricked me. I didn't know who they were. When I found them on the plains overlooking Fair Weather, they appeared to be lost. Then they told me that they were looking for you, that they were your family, that they loved you, that they missed you and that they were really concerned about you. So, I thought I would do you and them a favor by reuniting them with you. I really didn't know anything was wrong until Waylon stabbed me in the back and left me for dead in the middle of the street. And by that time, it was too late."
A single tear streaked down War Scribe's face, "I'm sorry, Kana, I'm sorry that I brought all of that hell down upon both you and Serna. And I'm sorry for all that I put the both of you through. Can you please forgive me? Can you please still be my Scruffy Wuffy Wolfie?"
Kana reached out and took War Scribe into her arms and hugged. "I know that you were the one who told them," she started out. "They told me and thought that they had dispatched you. You didn't know what they could do, and I never said anything that would make anyone think otherwise. Course I never said anything, but there's nothing to forgive. Balance was kept."
"You mean that?" squeaked The Drowling nustling up with The Wolfen who held her in her arms, "O Kana, you're so kind and you're so sweet and you're so forgiving. I'm glad that you're my friend and I'm even more glad that you're my Scruffy Wuffy Wolfie, yes you are!"
Kana smiled as she held onto War Scribe. She knew that Scribe did what she did because of what she did, though she knew that she would never understand it fully. It brought a quick twinge to her heart as she thought of her Teacher. There seemed to be a similarity to them both, but she couldn't place it.
For a minute or two tears and sobs of joy erupted from The Chronicler who found comfort in the forgiveness of the Wolfen. After she gained some reasonable control over herself, Scribe sniffed as she looked into Kana's eyes, "Well, I guess we better be going, I mean, the others will probably be wondering where we are won't they?"
The pair instantly teleported into War Scribe's bedroom where she removed a small glass case and handed it to The Wolfen, "Here, Kana, you can put The Dragon's Bane in here. If you hold it long enough, you'll get hives."
Kana quickly put the Dragon's bane into the case and checked herself for any rashes.
"Ha!" snapped the Drowling, "It's a joke, Kana, I got ya!"
Growling at her, but with no real threat behind it, Kana took the case and closed it.
War Scribe wandered towards an armoire, pulled out three white robes and a cup of rouge before she returned and wrapped her free arm around the Wolfen's waist rubbing herself against Kana's fur, "Well, shall we see what the others have been up to, my Scrufffy Wuffy Wolfie?"
Rolling her eye's she said, "Let's go."
Once again the duo teleported back to the rest of the group with War Scribe beaming from ear to ear, "We're back! Did you miss us?"
"Well, I have everything you guys are going to need to get roasted and toasted by Aurilaz! Muwha! Ha! Ha! Ha!" the Drowling handed the robes and rouge to Tommy and Alyson, "Four Eyes, if your Draconic is up to snuff you have to use the rouge and paint the words 'peace' on Tommy and Kana's right cheek and 'friend' on their left cheek, don those robes and walk unarmed into her presence. And Alyson, considering how many times you've boffed Willow since you've met him, I know wearing white for you is going to be a bit of a stretch but do try and pull it off, okay? Muwha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
"Right, and when you're done," the Gamer added, "you can write 'Blue Plate Special' on War Scribe's face." Turning to the Drowling with a grin, he continued, "I did offer to feed you to a Dragon, remember?"
"Is there anything else you guys need?" inquired the Drowling, "Aside from having your heads examined for attempting this delightfully suicidal plan?"
