Serna gave The Wolfen a hug, "But still, be careful, Mistress Kana, and come back safe and sound. I still have to wash and braid your hair, you know, it wouldn't be right if something happened to you before I made you look like a decent Wolfen in the Realm." Kana's Ex-Servant gave her a worried laugh, "By the way, Mistress Kana, do you want me to hold onto your Lightning Bow for you?"
"Thank you," the Wolfen said. After releasing Serna from their hug, she took her Bow and handed it over. She then walked over to where the other two 'messengers' were.
"Figures....you'd leave us in a situation where you didn't have to do the talking, Scribe," Muttered the elementalist on edge.
"What do you want me to do, Alyson? Hold your hand while you face Aurilaz? Muwha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!" mocked the Chronicler, "What are you afraid of, you big baby? You should look on the bright side, aside from Quake, Mermidon and myself, you're the only person here who can speak Draconic. If Aurilaz decides to chomp on your bones, you should take comfort in the fact that she will be able to understand your screams in at least two different languages instead of one. Muwha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
Tommy glanced back down at Alyson. "There's a situation where you'd *want* her to do the talking?" he asked, nonplussed.
"Well, duh. Stupid question, Tommy. You know figure of speech." Alyson shot back.
"I…" The Gamer paused. "You know what? Never mind. I should know better than to get between you and War Scribe."
"Please hold still, Master Tommy," Neven complained as he nearly finished putting on the rouge, "I'm almost done--THERE!"
"Of course there is, Tommy," smiled the Drowling from ear to ear, "If Death decides to pay her a visit, I guarantee you that Alyson will want me to talk to speak on her behalf since Death and I are old friends. Muwha! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
"Death? Death is female?" quipped the elementalist donning on the white robe. "I was under the impression that Death was neither male nor female."
"Not going there," Tommy muttered.
"Death is a cool Goth chick who has great fashion sense!" beamed War Scribe from ear to ear as she gushed longingly, "She's sweet, nice, kind, respectful and she likes spending quality time with me. Sometimes we play canasta, sometimes we play dress up, heck, sometimes we get into pillow fights for fun. Mind you, she always cheats at the pillow fights, but she's good people. Fear not, Alyson, one day I'll have the honor of introducing you two and then you can be friends--right before she ships you off to The Sunless Lands. Muwha! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
"Well, Master Tommy, be careful and stay safe," Neven gave The Gamer a firm nod.
The Gamer sighed. "I'm not sure how possible either of those will be in there, but I'll give it my best shot. But thank you for the wish, and thank you for your assistance with the preparation. Now take care of yourself." He smiled. "I want to know you've got my back if things go pear-shaped."
"Always, Master Tommy, always," Neven replied confidently.
"We'll be right here to back all of you up," added The Dark Elf, "If you get into trouble, we'll pull you out, drop the mountain down on Aurilaz's head and dig out The Eleventh Talisman from what remains. If there are no questions, I guess its time for you guys to go. Kana, Alyson, Tommy take care all of you, keep your eyes sharp and stay safe."
"I'm not sure dropping a mountain on her head would do more than irritate her," Tommy replied with a chuckle, "but it's the thought that counts. Right?" He shrugged. "Besides, if things go as planned, all you'll have to do is sit around having your money taken by Serna the Card Shark."
Kana's Ex-Servant giggled like the school girl that she was at Tommy's joke, "I'm not that good, Master Tommy, but on the other hand, I'm not that bad either. He! He! He! He!"
"Be safe, Mistress Kana!" Serna cautioned her friend.
Willow abstained from saying anything to Alyson aside from two words, "Take care."
Alyson turned meeting the ranger's gaze and mouth in silence, 'I will' before joining Tommy and Kana.

"Well, there they go!" Irzen put his hands on his hips watching the others as they ascended to the halfway mark on the staircase leading to The Topaz Mountains' cave entrance.
"So what do we do now?" asked Neven innocently.
"I have a deck of cards," offered Serna with a smile, "How about a game of fan-tan? Lady War Scribe taught it to Mistress Kana and I while we were trapped in that cage."
The Ranger stared off towards the south and walked thirty feet away from the others, quickly dropped to his knees and put his ear to the ground.
"Willow?" The Swordsman asked with a raised eyebrow, "Is there something wrong?"
Willow rose to his feet and held up his hand as though he were asking for silence before he moved passed his friends and went forty feet to the north and repeated his earlier actions.
Serna and Neven just stared at the Wood Elf with worried glances.
The Ranger returned to them, "We are going to have company soon. Orcs are marching from the south towards us. I felt a hundred footfalls at least, maybe less, they are not more than fifteen minutes from us. Humans are moving from the north, twenty of them, they are not more than ten minutes away." Pointing to a distant rock outcropping, Willow announced, "We should see them coming over that rise soon. Between the Orcs, the Humans and the Dragon we are surrounded and out-numbered."
"What do we do?" Neven asked nervously.
"We don't panic for a start," confessed the Swordsman, "As far as the Orcs go, Venger never goes anywhere without his retinue to back him up--especially over something as important as The Eleventh Talisman. This is standard operating procedure with him. They won't make a move on us unless The Dark Lord says so. As far as the Humans go, I don't have a clue as to why they're coming out to meet us. Anyone have any theories they would like to share?"

As the trio of Adventures moved three-quarters of the way up the mountain carved staircase, the figures at the top of the stairs regarded them not with curiousity but with contempt. The tallest of the men cried out in a booming voice, "Lord Tanaka! High Lady Alyson! Lady Kana! Honored Guests of Aurilaz the Terrible! You have been expected by the Sagacious Wyrm! As you come in peace, bring forth your gift to Aurilaz the Mighty, and follow me!"
