Seriah got up, brushing the excess dirt off, "I'm fine."
"Okay, guys, we tried it the hard way and you lost!" declared the Drow to the defeated Zealots, "Now let's try it the easy way so you can go home and live. Lay down your weapons! Put your hands on your heads! Lock your fingers together! March single file back from whence you came! And don't come back! You may have us outmanned but we've got you outgunned. Go home and live or fight us and die. Your choice!"
The Swordsman cast a quick glance to The Assassin, "Seriah, you've dealt with Zealots probably more often than any of us. What do you think their next move is going to be?"
"You're asking me their next move?" The assassin blinked, "Zealots are Zealots, they will fight to the death for their beliefs, and hold grudges against those who stand in their way either to let them live or see them driving before them like animals. They will never," pointing her scimitar at the throat of one, "stop coming, unless their master says otherwise. They're right and we're wrong, end of story."
"Is she right?" asked The Dark Elf turning to one of the surviving Zealots.
"She is!" replied the Zealot without hesitation rising to his feet, "But we will do as you ask: We will lay down our weapons, we will put our hands on our heads, we will even march back to our village. But I promise you this, we shall return with ten times our number and we will take the virgin girl child and the woman here and sacrifice them to Aurilaz. And then we will descend upon the rest of you like wolves descending upon a flock of sheep."
"Blah! Blah! Blah!" The assassin mocked the zealot making his threats, "You're NOT in any position to demand anything, dog!"
"Be silent, woman!" snarled the Zealot, "Men are speaking here. And if you mock me again, infidel harlot, I will cut out your offending tongue before we sacrifice you to the great and terrible Aurilaz!"
"I have a name you know!" snapped Serna with an angry stomp of her foot.
"But know this, woman," added another Zealot who rose to his feet as he addressed Seriah, "You and the virgin girl child will burn on the flaming altar of Aurilaz as a sacrifice to her power. There is no escape for you! Your fate was sealed the moment you came here. Until we return, make peace with whatever god you serve for when we do come back, you will die!"
"Muwha! Ha! Ha! Ha! You think it is that easy to kill me, dog? I have not passed through fire and death to be intimidated by the likes of you!" Seriah burst into laughter, "I am already a servant of Niena, Mistress of the Dead, those who are fated to die at my hand, such as yourselves. Mainly you in particular, priest! Though, I think, Kali would prefer your blood instead."
"Niena!? Kali!?" screeched one of the Zealots who grabbed the front of his robes and tore them right down the middle, "BLASPHEMER! How dare you speak the names of such dark, false and idolatrous gods amidst the Servitors of the Dragon god Aurilaz the Terrible! You shall pay dearly for this outrage, strumpet, and I shall collect my payment in blood!"
The Zealot tore off the rest of his robes to reveal his well-defined and well-toned chest though from the waist down he wore a pair of leather pants. Pulling out his Egyptian-style blade, he pointed his weapon at Seriah, "Woman, I am Calus, High Servitor of Aurilaz the Terrible, I challenge you to a duel by swords to the Death. This day we shall see whose gods shall prevail--your false gods and witless idols or the Great and Terrible Aurilaz who cleanses the Realm with her power. Will you accept my challenge or will you hide behind your men to protect you?"
"Seriah, you don't have to do this," hissed The Swordsman, "We've got these guys on their heels. Willow, you and I can finish them now if need be with Mermidon and Quake as backup. Please, don't take him up on this challenge."
