Surveying the surrounding area and the group cleared of enemies for the moment, she said plainly, "Let us go now before Venger arrives, though I'm sure that will be sooner rather than later."
"Good point!" the Swordsman flicked the blood of his blade before he returned Evenflow to its sheathe, "Serna, give Willow Kana's bow. Willow, keep an eye on those zealots at the top of the stairs. If any of them try to rain missiles down on us--magical or not--you know what to do."
Kana's Ex-Servant dropped her shield, tossed the Lightning Bow to the Ranger and them quickly reinstalled her magical protection.
Willow Bark for his part took the bow, nodded in agreement with Irzen and drew a lightning arrow upon the weapon in an effort to give Seriah and Irzen covering fire if need be. But before he could drop into a proper stance and before the Swordsman and the Assassin could begin their treacherous ascent, the Ranger cried out to his companions, "Irzen! Seriah! Look upward!"
Before everyone's eyes a massive black cloud began to form at the top of the Topaz Mountains overlooking Aurilaz's domain. This cloud quickly solidified into the Ancient Black Dragon that all within that valley had come to both fear and respect.
"Ye gods! What a monster!" exclaimed Willow.
"What?! You've got to be kidding?!" Exclaimed the assassin in shock.
"WWWoooowwww!!!" cried Serna and Neven in unison.
"Sweet Jesus, that thing is huge!" Irzen took a step back.
Without a moment's hesitation, Aurilaz began to fulfill her first command given to her by Kana. Turning her gaze towards her three robed zealots at the top of the staircase, the Black Dragon swung her tail downward and swatted the three men high into the air sending them flying beyond the clouds.
"What in the Realm is she doing?" gasped the Swordsman to no one in particular, "Any ideas?"
"Things are not as they appear to be, peoples," Quake chimed in suddenly.
Next she turned her attention to the small village at the foot of the Topaz Mountains where her followers dwelled. Cutting the air with a roar that sounded like the space shuttle preparing to liftoff from its launchpad, Aurilaz opened her mouth and cut loose with a blast attack that was so thick, so rich and so powerful that it appeared as if the Black Dragon had become a massive fount from which a river of black acid flowed. In less than a full minute, Aurilaz reduced the Human village and all of its occupants into a large lake of an acidic morass.
After they removed their hands from their ears, the Adventurers were stunned into silence by this sudden and massive display of pure draconic power.
Okay. Even Quake was impressed by Aurilaz's sheer power after she had snapped out of her daze, "WHOA! COOL! Gee, will I ever get that powerful?"
"Only if you live as long as her--" confessed the Ranger.
"--And eat your Wheaties too!" concluded the Swordsman.
"Greetings, Adventurers, I come in peace," Aurilaz spoke in a fairly conciliatory tone of voice, "As per the new terms of our truce, Lady Kana has ordered me to bring all of you unto her at this time--unharmed of course. What say you?"
Quake sniffed the air near the black dragon and noticed something different, "Hey! She doesn't have that terrible necklace, thingy around her neck anymore!"
"So is that a good thing or a bad thing?" asked Neven innocently.
"Good for us--I hope," added Serna nervously.
"Which would explain why the dragon did not waste us when she had a perfect opportunity too," observed the assassin, "Eh? Riding a dragon? Ah, what do you think, swordsman, ranger?"
"What choice do we have?" inquired Willow to no one in particular, "Since someone else is in control of the Talisman, someone else also controls Aurilaz. We would do well to do as she instructs and discover who is the true Bearer of the Eleventh Talisman now."
"Agreed," Irzen turned towards The Thief and The Shield Maiden, "Serna, lower your shield, we're not going to be needing it. Neven, prepare yourself for a rare treat--a dragon flight."
"A flight?! Upon my back?! Perish the thought!" snapped Aurilaz as a veil of black mist rose from the ground before the Adventurers. The Black Dragon nodded towards the mist, "The veil of mists is a portal to my inner sanctum. Walk through the veil and you will meet your friends."
"I'll go first!" volunteered the Swordsman who without a moment's hesitation walked through the veil and into Aurilaz's chamber where he discovered Kana, Tommy and Alyson talking amongst themselves. Calling back to the others, Irzen declared, "It's okay, guys, you all can come on through!"
