The Gamer accepted the small chest from Kana. "Thank you." Popping the lid, he gazed at the white-gold metal within. "Shiny. Okay, speaking of quick and dirty field expedients…" He glanced around once more, sizing up their assets. "Here's the basic plan: I cast a quick Circle – I'll need Sterling, Alyson, Serna and Willow Bark with Kana's Bow at the Quarters – and prepare the orichalcum." He looked at Kana. "Under the circumstances, I think the best way to do this is paint some runic tattoos on your skin. They'll facilitate transferring the physical link from the Talisman to your body, and keep it stable." Tommy frowned for a moment, thinking. "Alyson, how quickly can you store some elemental energy in the tear? It doesn't need to be a lot, but it needs to be a good balance of energies."
The elementalist inhaled deeply, the hard stone around her began to liquify to a puddy like substance. The earth energy rose up through the body of Alyson feet first and out her right hand right into the dragon tear, "There. That should be enough, Tommy."
"I don't think that will be hard for her," Kana piped up. "The best/worst possibility will be that she'll have more than enough to choose from. Though a dead mountain turning green might cause some curiosity."
Tommy smiled. “I didn't expect it to be difficult. I was more concerned about time. Thank you, Alyson.”
Irzen, Serna and Willow began to move into the same positions they held when they helped Tommy open the portal into which they deposited The Mercy Family.
"Well, here we go again," The Swordsman drew forth Evenflow and held his blade at the ready.
"At least we know what to do this time," The Ranger drew forth an Energy Arrow from Kana's Lightning Bow.
"But I hope we're not making the same mistake as before, Master Willow," concluded Serna as she held her Shield aloft, "I hope we're not putting too much on the back of Master Tommy to complete the spell."
More than a little worried about this revelation, Neven turned to The Gamer, "Master Tommy, are you sure you're going to be alright in casting this spell? And is there anything that I can do to help?"
The Gamer grinned. “I get by with a little help from my friends. I shouldn't be at any risk here unless the Talisman decides I'm a threat and tries to smack me down, and a lot of what we're doing right now is designed to prevent that from happening. As for what you can do, Neven,” he added, turning to the former Thief, “I need you to take this Stone. It's a final bit of insurance. You'll have to stand outside the Circle. There are two potential ways things can go very wrong. Okay, more than two, but these are the likeliest that I can do anything to prevent against. First, if things go really wrong with what I'm doing, you should see a surge of energy flow into the Stone. At that point, throw it as far away as you can. Quickly. Second, if our guest gets here too soon – big guy, blue skin, one horn, bat wings...you can't miss him – and he does something annoying like try to blast us inside the Circle, I want you to throw the Stone at him as soon as he starts blasting. And then run away for all your life is worth.” He paused with another smile. “It's just a little perilous, but I think you can handle it.” With a minimal shrug, he offered the Dragon's Tear to Neven.
The Thief took the Dragon's Tear somewhat warily before he turned to his mentor, "I will do as you ask, Master Tommy. I won't let you down. Good luck." With that said, Neven took his position outside of the Circle and eagerly awaited to see what would happen next.
Tommy turned then to Seriah. “And I'd like you to take guard duty. Don't let anybody else interfere.”
Kana closed her eyes for a brief moment. "Hmm. Ok, I'm ready," she murmured before opening her eyes and saying to Tommy, "I'm Ready."
”Jolly good.” The Gamer looked around. “Okay, let's be about it.” He took a small lozenge of sun-bright metal from the chest, then put the chest down and walked several paces away. “Kana, please stand right there, facing me,” he said, pointing to a spot just a couple of steps away. “Sterling, there. Alyson, there. Willow Bark, there. And Serna, there.” As he spoke each person's name, he gestured to their places, forming a circle centered on the Wolfen. He closed his eyes, centering his own thoughts as the others moved into position. A red glow started from his chest, pulsing in time with his heart. The glow spread slowly, stopping once it encompassed the the entire circle. He opened his eyes. “Right, any last questions? If not, light 'em up. Er, that is, invoke the power of your Weapons.”
Willow Bark drew forth a shimmering white Energy Arrow from Kana's Lightning Bow and fired it at Irzen.
"It is your turn, Swordsman," quipped the Ranger.
The Dark Elf used Evenflow to catch and then reflect the Energy Arrow which now appeared to be golden in color.
"Okay, Serna, you're up!" added Sterling as he pointed his blade directly at Serna.
The Swordsman launched the beam of magical energy towards the Shield Maiden who used her Weapon of Power to deflect the now purple beam of magical energy towards the Elementalist.
"It's all yours, High Lady Alyson," concluded Serna proudly as she performed her task.
((OOC Tommy: Quick question. My absent-mindedness is kicking in again, and I don't have the time to search back through the old posts. What form is Kana in right now? It isn't of great importance, but it'll help with how I describe the next scene.))
