"WWWWOOOOOOWWWW!!!" gasped Neven in complete disbelief, "That was awesome Master Tommy! Who were those animals? Totems? Friends of yours among the gods?"
The Gamer shrugged. “Gods, near enough. Divine beings, anyway. Sort of a holdover from the more shamanic aspects of my training.”
"Mistress Kana are you okay?" cried Serna racing to the side of The Wolfen as she took Kana's hand, "How do you feel, Mistress Kana? Are you alright?"
"I am fine, dear one," the Wolfen answered a bit distractedly.
The Ranger turned towards The Gamer, "If you don't mind my asking, Tommy, can you please tell me what 'Irthir ui dastudr. Shivi coi othokent.' means? The one you call Ryuu spoke it to me before he departed. It seemed to be a warning to my ears, am I mistaken?"
”Umm...” Tommy thought for a moment. “Hunh. That's interesting. Something to the effect of 'Knowledge is Power. Guard it well.' Mean anything to you?” Something in the Gamer's tone suggested that it did mean something to him.
"It does," replied the Ranger gravely, "As you would say, it is more unfinished business than anything else. It is an old warning which has been upon my heart for some time. A matter which I have both denied and delayed yet long feared would return to haunt me again. Mayhaps when this adventure is over I will come to finally address it."
"More importantly than that," Irzen walked over to the Gamer, "How are you doing, pal? That could not have been easy. I don't know how much time we have left before Venger arrives but--"
Suddenly the Adventurers heard the muffled sound of a blast coming from outside of the mountain. A few rocks and some dust trickled down upon the heroes as the mountain shook beneath their feet.
"--Three guesses who that is and the first two don't count!" concluded Irzen with a frown.
"Hmph!" The assassin drew both daggers in response, "And who is being DRAMACTIC now?!"
"Nah! Venger's never TOO DRAMATIC!" Answered a sarcastic elementalist bracing herself from the vibrations.
Tommy looked up thoughtfully. “Pee-Wee Herman? Or maybe the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz.” He shrugged. “But yeah, it's probably...”

Outside of the Topaz Mountains Venger, flanked by his Orc battalion standing in perfect battle formation, stretched forth his hand and fired another energy blast at the entrance to Aurilaz's lair.
"SWORDSMAN! GAMER! ELEMENTALIST! COME FORTH!" roared the Dark Lord of the Realm, "BRING UNTO ME MY PRIZE! RENDER UNTO ME THE ELEVENTH TALISMAN AND KNEEL BEFORE YOUR MASTER!"
++++++++
”...him,” the Gamer continued. “Heh. When I say 'who's the master?' You say?”
"SHONUGH!" cried the Swordsman promptly before he gave a sheepish grin to Serna, Neven and Willow who gave the Drow a surprised look, "Sorry, guys, it's an inside joke. It's from this movie called The Last Dragon. You had to have seen it."
"An inside joke?" quipped the Shield Maiden innocently.
"What is a moo-vie?" asked the Thief honestly.
"There is a single remaining Dragon on your world that serves as a Jester?" inquired the Ranger.
"Like I said, guys, you had to have seen it to get the joke," the Swordsman waved them off, "Pay me no mind."
Taking the talisman off her neck, the Wolfen handed it to Serna, saying, "Give this to Irzen. You and Neven shall remain behind with me as they give it to V. Let them know to have Quake with them. I will need to have her inform me of all that is going on with their confrontation through the bond. When the time is right, I shall collect enough magic to turn a good amount of the mountain green and have Aurilaz race out of here, as if free from the talisman. It needs to be known that what is forced to be given, is not then truly given freely."
"As you wish, Mistress Kana," The Shield Maiden claimed the talisman, walked over to Irzen and gave it to the Swordsman, "Take care of it, High Lord Irzen, we're going to need it to take all of that nasty Dragon control stuff out of Mistress Kana."
"Don't worry, Serna," the Dark Elf accepted the now defunct Eleventh Talisman, "We will. And you take care of your friend as well. If all does not go well out there, you and Neven will be all the protection that Kana will have. Understand?"
Serna nodded as she brandished her round shield, "I am Mistress Kana's Shield Maiden, High Lord Irzen, I understand and I won't let her down."
The Wolfen stared into nothingness and said quietly, "I am being shown..." she then takes a surprised gasp, "a new Bearer!"
Tommy rolled his head from side to side. “That's nice. Unless it's something we really need to know before we go have our little chat outside, I think we might be better off not knowing.” He grinned. “Makes it easier to avoid lying.”
"Agreed, Tommy, Alyson, Seriah, Willow you're with me," The Swordsman moved towards the Gamer, "Serna and Neven, keep an eye on Kana until we return."
As they walked up towards the entrance of Aurilaz's cave, Irzen asked the Gamer with more than a little concern in his voice, "Tommy, just what the hell are we dealing with here? I mean, is this Talisman of Dragon Control just an artifact that allows the Bearer to control a dragon or two? Or are we really dealing with some serious Wrath of God type of stuff here?"
"I'm worried, my friend," admitted the Swordsman, "I'm worried about what we have done to Kana as well as what Kana has done to herself."
+++++
Once the Adventurers had departed, the Shield Maiden squatted down before the Wolfen and pulled out a deck of cards, "Well, since we have to wait, why don't we play a game of fan-tan like Lady War Scribe taught us when we were trapped in that cage?"
((OOC Tommy: Two hurdles down. We turned in our research paper today, and I'm approved for my new apartment as soon as they get the "yes, he's a good tenant" letter from my landlord. (They've already confirmed over the phone, but we're having some trouble getting the form faxed over.) Now I just need to deal with, on the one hand, getting our presentation ready for next Monday, and on the other hand moving the following Saturday. There's a final exam in there too, but I'm not even slightly worried about that.))
((OOC Your Friendly GM: Good for you! I hope the new apartment works out and you get your presentation ready on time. Take care, my friend, and be well.))
